Cold Steel

Cold Steel was founded in 1980 by Lynn C. Thompson in Ventura, California. Since 2020, the company has been headquartered in Irving, Texas. The product line includes fixed and folding knives, swords, machetes, tomahawks, spears, training weapons, and tools for outdoor and self-defense purposes. The lineup also features kukris and various axes.

Cold Steel is recognized for popularizing the American Tanto blade style and for innovations such as San Mai III steel and the Tri-Ad Lock mechanism. Manufacturing takes place in the United States, Japan, Taiwan, China, India, Italy, and South Africa. The products are used by military, law enforcement, outdoor users, and collectors.
