Marlin Firearms was founded in 1870 by John Mahlon Marlin in New Haven, Connecticut. It quickly gained prominence with lever-action rifles such as the Model 1881 and the legendary .22 Model 39A, becoming a cornerstone of American firearm heritage.

Specializing in semi-automatic, lever-action, and bolt-action rifles, Marlin’s iconic offerings—like the Model 1894 and Model 336 (.30-30 lever-action with over four million produced)—remain widely respected. Since 2020, Marlin has been part of Sturm, Ruger & Co., preserving its legacy through modern U.S. manufacturing.
