SOG

SOG Specialty Knives & Tools was founded in 1986 by Spencer and Gloria Frazer. Its name honors the elite US special operations unit MACV-SOG, and the original product was a faithful reproduction of the unit’s iconic Bowie knife from the Vietnam War.

The company's catalog now includes folding knives, fixed blades, multitools, axes and outdoor tools. Notable designs like the SEAL series originated from military collaboration in the 1990s. Key innovations include the compound-leverage multitool (patented in 1996) and the Assisted-Opening technology (S.A.T.) introduced in 2000.

SOG manufactures globally, with production in the USA, Japan, Taiwan and China; models labeled “USA-made” continue in the offering.
