Zippo Manufacturing Company was founded in 1932 by George G. Blaisdell in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Inspired by an Austrian lighter, he created a compact and durable design featuring a windproof flame and the distinctive “click.” The design has remained largely unchanged since 1933 and has become a global symbol of reliability and style.
